All the planning I did for 2024 couldn’t prepare me for the past week I had. While I thoroughly took time to set my intentions for the year, I’ve learned that when life happens, you must have faith and cling to what is good. Even if it seems impossible in the moment.
Verse Of The Week
“Be sincere in your love for others. Hate everything that is evil and hold tight to everything that is good.” – Romans 12:9
This verse reminds me of the significance of loving and cherishing your people and giving energy to good things in your life.
When we face challenges in life it’s easy to focus on our problems, situations, or circumstances. And if we’re not mindful of our thoughts we can easily take our focus away from what God is trying to teach us or what He’s speaking to us in a particular season of life.
2024 Diaries | Week Two
Faith & Good Habits
1. Having Faith
One thing I’ve learned about going through hard times is that no matter what, God is with you every step of the way and beyond. When experiencing pain of any kind, it’s an opportunity to grow in our faith and let God be God. However, it is a choice that we must make in order for Him to work in our hearts and lives.
I can say for myself that it isn’t the easiest thing to do but, it’s worth it. When we try to get through things on our own and rely on ourselves, we carry more than God ever intended for us to carry. The truth of the matter is, is that you can gain hope, and joy, and gain excitement for life again…. with the help of God.
So whatever you are facing right now, keep in mind that long-lasting change takes time.
2. Good Habits
Another thing that is helping me in this season of life is good habits. Habits that align with my faith and goals are what I’m focusing on right now.
Waking up at a reasonable time, sticking to healthy habits, starting my day with Jesus, completing my daily tasks, and spending time/talking to loved ones are all things that are bringing me joy and happiness during this time.
Focusing On The Good
While focusing on the good can’t change what has happened, it can give you joy for today and the days to come.
Gratitude is also a powerful way to reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. If you’re struggling to overcome negative feelings and emotions, I recommend starting a gratitude practice and putting your energy toward the good things in life
