We’re all currently staying at home practicing social distancing. With everything that’s going on, romance is probably one of the last things on your mind. However, it’s important to stay connected to your significant other to keep the spark alive in your relationship.
It’s been over a month since our way of living has changed right before our eyes, but that doesn’t mean it has to take a toll on your relationship. Instead, you can make the most of this time in any way possible by making date nights a part of your weekly routine.
Whether you’re dating, engaged, or married, here’s 10 at-home date ideas for couples to enjoy!
AT-HOME DATE IDEAS FOR COUPLES
1. Make A Meal Together
Cooking may seem like a long and tedious process when you’re preparing meals alone, but it can be so much fun cooking with your significant other. Cooking is a great way to spend quality time together, improve communication, and help keep those sparks flying. Cooking something simple together like a pasta dish, tacos, or a homemade pizza is always a good start. If you want to get creative, try recreating a dish from your favorite restaurant!
2. Game Night
When looking for games for two, it can be difficult to find an enjoyable and fun game. For instance, the two of you can play cards, board games, or a video game for a little competition. If you want to test how well you know each other, then you can try this game called “Our Moments!”
3. Have A Picnic
Another great date idea that you can enjoy at home is a romantic picnic. Although you can’t go to your favorite spot at the moment, having a picnic at home is just as fun and romantic. Depending on the weather, enjoy some fresh air and have your picnic in your backyard. However, if you don’t have a backyard, you can spread out a blanket in your living room and light some candles for a more romantic vibe.
4. Movie Marathon
You can never go wrong with getting cozy and snuggling up together to watch movies that you both will enjoy. So instead of sticking to the basics and bingeing on your favorite shows, create a movie playlist. My husband and I have been using our home theater a lot more. I must say, it beats going to the theater. Also, if you fall asleep during the movie, at least you’re in the comfort of your own home. LOL!
Throw on your pajamas, pop the popcorn, start the playlist, and you’re bound for a great date!
5. Make & Enjoy A Charcuterie Board
Make your own Charcuterie Board (meat, cheese, crackers, and sweet and savory bites) or take a trip to the grocery store and buy a deli platter. If you’re feeling fancy, pair it with some wine to enjoy with your snack/meal. If you need help finding the perfect wine(s), then I recommend checking out Winc.
Winc Wine Club offers a wide range of wines that you can choose from and have them delivered right to your doorstep!
6. Do A Puzzle
Puzzles challenge the mind and are great for a little competition. You can either work on a puzzle together for a little fun or have your own. This helps for creativity within each other, and it’s another way to find out more about each other.
7. At-Home Spa
Having a spa date at home is the perfect way to pamper each other. You can also indulge in some self-care while lounging around the house. You don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of money going to a spa when you have each other! Therefore, you can start by enjoying a warm bubble bath and add rose petals to set the vibe. Then, take turns doing a face mask together and finish it off by giving each other massages.
8. Plan For The Future
We’ve been spending more time than ever at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take actionable steps toward your hopes and dreams. Use this time to listen to each other intentions, aspirations, and discover ways you can succeed in those things you’re hoping for!
