Each year, I look forward to this beautiful season and all that it has to offer. There are many reasons I love fall, from the colorful leaves to the activities that get you in the festive spirit. However, as we head into this time of the year, it’s important to slow down and enjoy life. This doesn’t take away from your daily tasks or schedule, but it does allow you to create balance and positively contributes to your overall happiness and well-being. Here are 11 easy ways you can enjoy this fall season!
11 WAYS TO GET IN THE FALL MOOD
TAKE A WALK IN NATURE
While you may want to stay indoors where it’s extra toasty and cozy, you might want to consider getting outdoors and enjoying some fresh air. Going for a walk, jog, or even a bike ride is a great way to get your body moving and staying fit during the colder months. I like to get my day going by getting my body moving, and this is something that I look forward to daily.
DRINK WARM DRINKS
Grab your favorite fall mug and sip on!
As the temperature drops, I find myself navigating to warmer drinks and alternating between coffee and teas. Whether you prefer coffee or tea, nothing beats sipping on your favorite warm beverage of choice, especially now that it’s fall. But, of course, you could also try making new seasonal drinks at home or grabbing one to-go at a local coffee shop!
TAKE A ROAD TRIP
Plan a fall-themed getaway! Going to a destination where you can relax and enjoy the view of the bright and colorful leaves is a great way to embrace this season. Last year, my husband and I rented a cabin for the first time, and it was the absolute best. So you want to make the most of this season, don’t be afraid to travel to see beautiful fall foliage or fall festivals!

Another great way to enjoy this fall season is by preparing warm hearty meals for chilly autumn nights. Trying new crockpot recipes or cooking your favorite dishes are fantastic ways to incorporate fall-inspired meals into your weekly meal plan. Soups, chilis, and pasta dishes are a few meals that I’m looking forward to this season. Also, adding spices like Cinnamon and Pumpkin Spice to your meals is, way to indulge in the delicious flavors of fall!
ADD FALL DECOR TO YOUR HOME
Adding a few decorative fall pieces to your home can make your space feel extra cozy. Your home should be a place that creates peace and happiness. Decorating tour home with fall garland, throw pillows, cozy blankets, floral arrangements, fall signs, and more are great decor items to get you in the festive spirit!
CREATE A FALL BUCKET LIST
If you love fall and are excited about this season, then it’s time to create a fall bucket list! Chances are you have plenty of ideas of the activities you would like to partake in. Therefore, be sure to create your fall bucket list whether you plan on celebrating this season alone, with your partner or family. This will help you plan ahead and make time for all things fall!
JOURNAL AND PRACTICE GRATITUDE
Starting each day with a clear mind and a grateful heart is a positive way to prepare yourself for the day ahead. Taking just a few moments to self-reflect before starting your day will allow you to gain mental clarity and helps you let go of negative emotions. In addition to journaling, practicing gratitude helps you appreciate all that you have while pursuing more. These positive habits allow you to have some “me time” and work on your mindset before working on your daily tasks.

CREATE A FALL MOVIE PLAYLIST
If you haven’t already made a fall movie playlist, then you might want to create a list of movies that will put you in the mood for all. I don’t know about you, but I look forward to this time of year watching great movies. I add a few classics to my fall movie playlist every year; however, I also browse Netflix and The Hallmark Channel to find new movies. As the temperature drops, nothing beats curling up under a cozy blanket and enjoying a fall dessert while watching movies to get you in the festive spirit!
SHOP FOR FALL
Going to your favorite stores or shopping online for all things fall is another thing you can do to kick off the fall season. Adding decorations to your home and perhaps a few fall fashion pieces to your wardrobe are awesome ways to get in the mood for fall. Sites like Amazon, Walmart, Yankees Candle, Hobby Lobby, and SHEIN are my go-to places when it comes to shopping for fall. A few weeks ago I was able to find the cutest pumpkin at Hobby Lobby and I’ve been in the fall spirit since last August and I’m feeling really good about it!
