Consistency is truly the gap between where you are currently and where you want to be. Whether you want to reach a specific goal, milestone, improve your life in any way, develop a skill or start something new.

Consistency is basically the small steps that you will need to take daily to become closer towards accomplishing your desired outcome. It may feel repetitive, boring, or even pointless at times.
But, I can honestly say when I’m consistent rather than when I am not. I am amazed at how much I achieve, how simple it was to finish a task, and the value it adds to my life.
You’d be surprised the opportunities, growth, wisdom, and quality of life that you benefit from all from taking action. This is coming from someone who is still learning how to not let their feelings, thoughts, and other heavy emotions get the best of their energy.
So no matter what obstacles or challenges you’re facing. I hope today’s post inspires you to show up without relying on yourself. But instead giving your weaknesses to God and relying on His strength to carry your tasks and efforts to full completion.
I hope this serves as a reminder that you have all within you to pursue your passion, get back on track, try something new, or even let go of anything that may be hindering your growth.
In ways that are both realistic and fun! Here are 5 ways to be consistent!💌🙏🏽💜🎯

How To Be Consistent (Without Overwhelm)
How To Show Up When It Feels Like Too Much
1. Stay Aligned With Your Values
Making sure you’re fully aligned with your values can help you shift your focus to the things that truly matter. You may benefit from this most if you’re going through something difficult, feeling discourage, or lacking clarity.
Reminding yourself of your beliefs, values, and even your goals can help give you a sense of direction. When you’re not aligned with your values you may find yourself focused on all that’s going wrong rather than being present.
This only steals your joy and doesn’t change anything. Because the truth is, although your feelings may be intense, raw, real, and a reflection in your reality. It’s important to not let them rule your life.
The only way to move forward through pain, hurt, procrastination, or any specific situation you may be healing from, is taking intentional action that is aligned with both your values and goals.
A few ways I practice staying in alignment with my values on my good days and not so good days are:
- Starting my morning with God even if it’s by reading a Bible passage, devotional, listening to my worship playlist, or praying.
- Exercising consistently.
- Carrying my water bottle everywhere I go to stay hydrated.
- Using my Create Heart Work digital planner to stay organized, track my meals, and aware of other aspects of my life.
2. Simplify Your Systems
There is so much beauty in simplicity. Often times you may think you’re not capable of doing something but that is far from the truth. You might even feel overwhelmed.
Chances are you just need a simple system that works for you. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that simplifying your life can help you build better habits, routines, sharpen your skills, and increase efficiency.
Life starts feels more manageable and enjoyable when you become more organized, productive, and strive to become a better version of yourself.
All from a place of peace, joy, and authenticity. A few ways you can simplify your life are:
- Creating a reoccurring weekly to-do list
- Creating a simple budgeting routine that you follow monthly, weekly, and/or daily.
- Create lists.
- Using productivity apps to help you create a better workflow or manage certain areas of your life.
3. Create A Vibe And Make It Enjoyable
Setting the vibes is a must!
Not only does it makes you want to show up more but it gives you something to look forward to. Adding pops of colors, nice scents, intentional items, fun and uplifting music can create an internal shift that won’t require you to feel ready to do the thing.
Whether you’re wanting to be consistent with working out, living a healthier lifestyle, or pursuing your passion.
You get to choose how you show up. And why not show up in ways that put you in a better state internally.
This makes it fun and helps you improve the quality of your work, no matter the task. More ways you can make your task(s) enjoyable:
- Placing motivation quotes or art somewhere you will see it daily.
- If you have sweet reminders of a lost loved one, use it as a motivation to keep going!🕊️✨
- Use a fun timer.
- Taking a new class, trying a new cafe, or buying a new outfit.
4. Stay Inspired
Staying inspired is crucial. It can encourage you take action that will help you create a better life yourself.
When you start showing up and working towards achieving your goals, the bridge between your dreams and reality start to shrink shorter and shorter. And before you know it you’ll realize that you are living a life of so many answered prayers.
You may become more grateful for who, where, and all that you have in life. Realizing that all you needed was to shift your mind, focus, and take action.
5. Silence Negativity And Doubt
If you want to be consistent and create any kind of change in your life. It’s important not let negativity, doubt, or other emotions fill your mind. It’s completely healthy to acknowledge, reflect, and process them healthily.
But, something that I learned to be true is that whatever you focus on will continue to appear more important, worthwhile, and demanding of your time, energy, and attention.
Which is why it’s important to be mindful of your thoughts and determine if giving in to your negative thoughts, emotions, or feelings serve you or drain your energy.
