Healing is something that we all must part take in to truly restore our hearts, minds, grow, and change our lives. There aren’t any shortcuts or quick fixes that will help you experience true and lasting change.

Our hearts are delicate and we should guard them just as God instructs us to do. During my healing journey I’ve learned through reading scripture, that God knows far more about us, our lives , our minds, and our hearts. More than we could ever comprehend. He just knows!
When I think of healing now, the first thing that comes to mind is Proverbs 4:23 comes to mind. It reminds me to be very intentional about how I live.
This Bible verse reminds me to be intentional about all that I allow into my life, mind, and to take up space in both my heart and space. It makes it clear that how you think creates your reality.
This is something that should be considered even if you’re not a healing journey. However, if you’re on a healing journey of your own, this is a great reminder to be mindful of how you’re thinking about yourself, life, others, and your future. Whether you’re dealing with loss, grief, disappointment, or even change. All of which are all things that can cause deep, heavy, and unwanted emotions.
In today’s post, I’ll be sharing 5 things that are helping me on my healing journey. They’ve helped in every stage of my journey and helping me today. I hope they inspire you in someway.
Healing is isn’t easy but it can turn into something beautiful when you do it with God. What you thought would break you, becomes the very thing that God uses to build you and bless you!
Here are 5 Ways To Truly Heal!🌹💫🦋

How To Really Heal
How To Make 2026 A Year Of Healing
1. Invite God Into Your Life Daily
One of the most effective and powerful things you can do while healing is inviting God into your life. This opens the door for enriching both your mind and life. And most importantly healing your heart.
While He isn’t responsible for your pain, He wants to help you grow and heal in ways you could never do on our own. You don’t need to show up perfect but with an open and receptive heart. If you’ve been trying to handle things on your own, you may find that it’s extremely stressful, tiring, and to be honest impossible.
So, rather than carrying, avoiding, trying to heal on your own issues and pain. Welcome God into your daily life. He sees every tear, feels every ache, and understands exactly what you’re going through. A few ways I’ve been inviting God into my life while healing are:
- Reading my Bible even it’s one chapter, verse, or simply saying a Biblical affirmation.
- Doing daily devotions
- Attending church
- Listening to worship music not only is this helpful but you improve your faith, reduce stress, and you feel refreshed.
- Listening to the book of Proverbs (in the Bible App) daily for wisdom and increasing knowledge.
- Prayer and gratitude journaling.
- Releasing things to Him. (This is difficult but your pain is better with Him than kept within)
2. Show Up For Yourself
Going through difficult times and dealing with deep unwanted feelings has taught me how important it is to live intentionally. I would go as far say that good habits are not only good in the moment but can also prepare you for the future.
Simply because when life happens you will find a way to get through it. And realistically speaking, you may cling to whatever habits are already apart of your life or pick up new or unwanted habits.
The goal is to have habits that make it easier to show up for yourself on both your good days and bad days. My daily habits guided me through my grief journey and I’ve never been more thankful for them until I saw how they helped me heal, grow, and show up for myself when everything started crumbling.
So, give yourself grace, show up even if all you have is a little to give. Because consistency will look and feel different during heavy seasons but your efforts will not go to waste.
God will bless your efforts, be your strength, light, comfort, and anything you can possibly need. Not just during your healing journey but even when life becomes more manageable. A few ways you can show up for yourself during your healing journey are:
- Spending time with God daily
- Create a goal and work towards it daily
- Journaling your feelings
- Moving your body, taking a fitness class, walking in nature, or indulging in hobbies
3. Live & Enjoy Your Life
Huge emphasis on living and enjoying your life!
Whether you’re having a tough season, experiencing loss, fear, navigating change, or dealing with uncertainty. An important and gentle reminder to consider is that while you may experience life changing experiences, trouble, or hardship.
Life doesn’t stop. It’s the sad but true reality. You can’t change the past, you must learn how to live life and enjoy it.
It may feel difficult or perhaps you may feel guilty for finally feeling alive and regaining your spark for life back. But something to consider is that this is all part of the journey.
Which is why it’s so important not to allow your feelings and emotions to lead your life. But to find ways to process them healthily.
When you look back during difficult seasons you’ll be proud of yourself for embracing the life you have. It doesn’t discredit, replace, or forget what was lost. Instead, you give a new meaning to your life and decide who you become and how it changes you.
4. Find Support, Community, & Build Healthy Relationships
Another important thing to do during your healing journey is to surround yourself with with positive and encouraging people. And getting the support you need.
Whether it’s talking with someone you trust, joining a community or talking with a professional. It’s important not to isolate yourself during times difficult times.
Simply because your mind can become your worst enemy and really impact the person you choose to become. You are never alone and your past doesn’t define you. No matter what you’ve been through or what has happened to you.
God sees you, He loves you, He makes all things new, and He is with you every step of the way. Whether you need a renewed mind, heart, or life. With Him no dream is ever too big!!
5. Document Your Healing Journey
No matter what you’re healing from, this journey is something worth remembering. Even if it doesn’t make sense now. You’ll be glad that you have something to look back and reflect on during one of the most life-changing seasons of your life.
For most, this will be a lifelong journey that you learn how to navigate. Some moments may be more difficult than others and some may make you feel extremely thankful for not giving up on your goals, life, and most importantly, yourself.
While true healing isn’t quick, glamours, or perfect. You’ll will become more wiser, stronger, confident, and experience the true meaning of faith. A few ways you can document your healing journey are:
- Taking photos and capturing moments you find meaningful or monumental.
- Journaling your thoughts, emotions, or feelings.
- Starting a prayer journal
- Making a voice note that you can go back and listen to.
