9 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS
GET CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT AND…. YOUR WHY
Taking the time to reflect and get clear on what you would like to accomplish in life is crucial. When you know what matters to you, you can define what success means to you. Often times we set goals based on what others are achieving and become influenced to set the same goals for ourselves without having a clear vision of what we truly want. This not only leads to an unfulfilled life but it may also become difficult to follow through with them.
Success looks different to everyone since we are all on different journeys. Which means success is whatever you want it to be. After creating your own definition of success, you can then get clear on your why. Knowing why you would like to achieve a specific goal will help you make better decisions and is extremely helpful when you aren’t motivated to do the things that will help you create the life you want.
START SMALL
Sticking to your goals and resolutions doesn’t have to be overly complicated. One of the best ways to can become consistent and build your self-discipline is by starting simple and taking small steps in the direction of your goals. For instance, if you’re wanting to start a fitness routine, devoting 3-4 days to exercise a week for 10-15 minutes each day would be a great way to build the habit rather than over-committing yourself. By doing so, you’re more likely to follow through and achieve your goals.
PLAN AHEAD
Another way to keep your New Year Resolutions is to set yourself up for success by planning ahead. Using a planner of any sort whether it’s a paper or digital planner can help hold you accountable and serve as a reminder to help you stay on track. Setting aside time each month or at the start of each week to fill in your planner to mark certain days to complete tasks will help keep you on the path to accomplishing your goals. Here is the planner that I’m using to help me achieve my goals!
LIVE AN INTENTIONAL LIFE
Living intentionally is living a life full of purpose. Meaning there is more thought put into the things you do on a day-to-day basis. When you are clear on your values and goals, you began to live a life that is alignment with the things that are important to you. Forming new habits and creating an intentional daily routine will allow you to live a purposeful life which will lead to success in the areas of life that you focus on daily.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Something I enjoy doing when it comes to achieving my goals or starting something new is keeping track of my progress. While it may not seem change or growth isn’t happening, you’ll see improvements along the way before hitting your overall goals. Documenting your journey or using a habit tracker to help you stay consistent is a small yet effective way to encourage yourself to keep going and see the progress you’ve made along the way!
CELEBRATE MILESTONES
Whether it’s is big win or a small win it’s worth celebrating! Change is hard and it’s the small things that you do consistently that lead to the big results. This has taught me how important it is to cheer for yourself when you’ve stayed committed to improving yourself and becoming more disciplined.
SHIFT YOUR MINDSET
Your mindset is so important especially when it comes to achieving your goals. Letting go of negative thinking patterns and limiting beliefs is also just as important. Sometimes we get in our own way of taking action to create the life we want for ourselves. In order to create the change you must make believe in yourself and know that you are capable of succeeding.
EMBRACE THE JOURNEY
There are many things that you learn during the process of achieving your goals. There are going to be ups and downs however, it’s important to embrace the journey you are on. Because who you become, the things you learn, and your daily habits are the same things that you will need to maintain your success once you’ve achieved your goals and resolutions.
STAY INSPIRED
Lastly, is imperative to stay hopeful and excited about your goals. It’s so easy to lose the excitement that you had when setting your resolutions for the New Year. This is where vision boards, positive affirmations, reading God’s Word for encouragement, or simply having your goals visible is where you can see them each day comes into play. Using inspiration daily can boost your creativity, and productivity, and add more joy to your life!
