I find it crazy how hard it is to come across hand sanitizer nowadays! Luckily, it’s quite simple to make. You can DIY and make your own at home. Today, I’m going to explain how to make your own hand sanitizer with only 3 ingredients.
Washing your hands is crucial to prevent the spread of germs. A great way of staying safe from catching a virus, such as the flu or Coronavirus, is by washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. However, what are you going to do if you can’t get to a sink to wash your hands?
Also, washing your hands is the best prevention from getting sick or spreading germs. However, hand sanitizer is the next best thing!
Therefore, when you can’t find any sanitizer anywhere, what are you to do? You make your own! As I mentioned earlier, all you need is 3 ingredients, and super it’s easy!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR HAND SANITIZER
- Travel Size Bottles
- 1 Cup of Rubbing Alcohol 60% or higher (the higher, the better)
- 1 Cup of Aloe Vera Gel
- 8-10 Drops of Essential Oils (optional)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR HAND SANITIZER SPRAY
- Travel Size Spray Bottles
- 1 Cup of Rubbing Alcohol 60% or higher (the higher, the better)
- 1 Cup of Witch Hazel (original) with Aloe Vera Formula

Once you have all your ingredients, whether you’re making your sanitizer as a gel or a spray, you’ll need to mix all the ingredients in a clean container or a bottle. For example, I mixed mines in a mason jar. Once the ingredients are mixed, you can now place them into your travel size bottles.
