8 Mindful Habits To Quiet Your Mind
Helpful Tips For Quieting Your Mind
1. Live A Distraction-Free Life
There are many distractions that we may have in our lives that hinder us from getting things done. Getting clear on the things that affect your ability to focus can be very beneficial to your productivity.
Distractions aren’t always bad things, they’re simply things that prevent you from completing the task at hand. Honestly, I’ve discovered that even positive habits can be a distraction when you’re doing something that requires complete focus to complete. Common distractions that you may face are notifications, social media, comparison, fear, negativity, etc…
Removing distractions from your life helps you live a balanced life and also helps you achieve more with a clear and quiet mind. While this is something that will take time, it’s crucial to make sure you’re making decisions that make a positive impact on your well-being.
2. Be Present
Living in the moment and being present is another great way to quiet your mind. Living life one day at a time can help shift your focus and develop a grateful heart.
When you’re not focused on the past or what tomorrow may hold, you are able to see the beauty of your life. Romanticizing your life allows you to live and see life from a new perspective and you’ll find yourself thinking less and living more.
3. Value Your Time Alone
As much time and energy as we spend giving our time to work and home responsibilities, it’s easy to not give ourselves time the same attention. While the company of others is often needed for connection and joy, it’s just as important to have moments of solitude.
No matter what your schedule looks like make time for yourself and do something special for yourself. Whether it’s creating a daily routine of optimal wellness, taking yourself on a date, or simply treating yourself.
By doing so, you’re able to enjoy your time alone and moments of solitude have their benefits and can help you work on your self-improvement, boost your confidence, and create balance.
4. Write Things Down
Write down all the thoughts that are taking up space in your head. From to-do’s, ideas, important dates, things to buy, and even your thoughts and feelings.
Taking the time to write down everything on your mind can help you unload and free your mind from clutter. This will allow you to think more clearly and help you focus on what matters. Journaling is also a great way to help you clear your mind and work through unwanted emotions.

5. Use Your Planners
As I mentioned, thoughts can take up a lot of space and can affect your ability to think more clearly as well as your focus. There isn’t anything more overwhelming than having tons of important dates, deadlines, projects, and tasks that need to be done and trying to remember it all.
This is where having a planner comes into hand. Using a planner helps you get organized and create structure in your life. Planning can be used as a tool to guide you and help hold you accountable for achieving your goals.

6. Allow Yourself To Rest
Sleep is important to your overall health. Making sure you’re giving your body the rest it needs can help you improve your wellness and reduce stress.
Relying on caffeine alone to give you energy isn’t ideal. A great way to increase your energy level is to create a sleep routine to improve your sleep quality.
Having too much on your mind can lead to overwhelm and leave you feeling stressed. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is recommended and is an awesome way to wake up feeling energized and improve your focus!
7. Move Your Body
One of my favorite ways to clear my mind is by moving my body. While exercise can improve your physical health, your mental health and well-being can benefit by making daily movement a habit.
Going for a walk while enjoying the fresh air, doing pilates, or even working out at home is a great way to allow yourself to be in the moment.
It doesn’t have to be an extreme workout. Simply finding an exercise that you enjoy is a fantastic way to prioritize your wellness and help you get out of your head.
8. Create Something
Tap into your creative side and do something that requires your complete attention. This could be baking a delicious dessert, jewelry, clothing items, digital product, scrapbook, the list goes on.
When you give your attention to something, you don’t have the time to entertain any thoughts that aren’t part of completing the task at hand. Creating something is a great way to add more joy to your life and it is also another way to quiet your mind!
