Feelings are often signals that reveal what we’re experiencing internally. Our experiences can produce joyful and beautiful feelings. At the same time, throughout life we also encounter difficult and negative emotions.

Our hearts are tender and delicate. It takes time heal, trust again, grow, and see change within our lives. On the other hand, a single situation, event, struggle, or circumstance can negatively impact us in an instant.
Our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions can be impacted in either a positive or negative way. Over time, we slowly become accustomed to our thought patterns, and they begin to reflect in our daily lives.
In today’s post, I’ll be sharing from my personal experience and what I’ve learned about the power of choosing to rely on God rather than my feelings. Honestly, it’s still a daily choice I have to make.
But the best part about is knowing that while negative emotions do exist, choosing to rely on Him rather than my own efforts, strength, and emotions brings so much joy into my life and helps guide me through both my good days and my toughest seasons.
Here are 7 Reasons To Rely On God Rather Than Your Feelings!🪞🕊️💌💜

7 Reasons To Rely On God Rather Than Your Feelings
Benefits Of Relying On God
How Relying On Your Feelings Negatively Impacts You
1.Feelings Can Impact Your Perspective
Feelings are fickle, they can change as quickly as the blink of an eye.
If not careful, they can produce negative and even false thought patterns. These thoughts can become dangerous if we begin to believe them. These thoughts can influence both the decisions we make and the ones we avoid.
Many times we may already know which actions align with our beliefs and will help us reach our goals, yet we still become“stuck” in our emotions. This alone may lead to inaction and even more negative emotions simply because we’re not making progress.
That’s the tricky thing about feelings, no matter what triggers them, we must choose to heal in a healthy way. Relying on feelings alone can shift your focus away from the good and the potential opportunities in front of you.
2. Feelings Can Impact Your Quality Of Life
Choosing to rely on your feelings can impact your overall life experience.
They can start off as a small thought that can either build you up or tear you down. Being mindful of the thoughts you’re thinking on a daily basis can give you insight on why you feel the way that you do.
Your thoughts can be a combination of how you feel about yourself, opinions of others, or what you choose to consume. This is why its important to aim to have a healthy thought life. Since it will contribute to how you think, feel, and the life you live.
3. Feelings Can Limit Your Growth
I am a firm believer that with faith and hard work, there isn’t anything that you can’t achieve. However, your feelings and emotions can become a huge block that delay the outcomes that you desire.
They aren’t reliable and shouldn’t be the source we rely on to feel ready or equipped to pursue new goals for habits.
Simply because if you wait to feel ready to do something, chances are you may procrastinate, forget, or wait until you feel like doing it.
4. Feelings Can Steal Your Joy
Relying on your feelings may also rob you of living a joyful life.
When you become focused on issues, situations, feelings, and emotions it prolongs healing and growth. Healing and growth comes from processing things in a healthy way one day at a time.
Meaning, you may not be able to change things you’ve experienced but it gives you the freedom to choose how you want to move forward and the person you want to show up as.
Why It’s Wise To Rely On God Rather Than Feelings?
1. His Word Is True And Lasts Forever
What I love most about God’s Word is that it stands true forever.
No what we experience in life His promises, His Word, and His character remain true and can give us hope and confidence though anything.
Prayer and meditating on scripture become a light, a source of strength, and guidance when walking through any darkness or challenging season.
So whether you’re facing a big or small challenge, you can rely on God’s Word to lead you to greater in all aspects of life.
Whether you read the same passage today and again in 10 years. You will gain value, insight, and an open heart to receive it in a new and meaningful way.
2. When Applied You Develop The Fruits Of The Spirit
When you start to read your Bible and experience it for yourself, you begin to see why it’s referred to as the living Word.
It’s unlike any other book you’ll ever come across and I can say that confidently. As you make it a part of your daily routine, it’s like each Word changes, heals, restores, prepares, equips your heart, and so much more.
You then begin to see that inner healing become a reality within your life. By applying His Word to your to life the fruits of the Spirit begins to develop in you. Leading to a new habits, routine, and decisions.
Choosing to rely on God doesn’t minimize hurt, pain, or circumstances you may be experiencing. Instead, it gives you something greater to focus on rather the feeling and emotions that are caused by what has happened.
It’s choosing to release any matters, outcomes, and even bad habits to Him. And following His ways rather than your feelings and emotions.
3. He Meets You Where You Are And Will NEVER Leave You
Another reason to rely on God and not your feelings is because you can come to God as you are. Whether you’re feeling afraid, anxious, abandoned, alone, or any other emotions that are preventing you living and enjoying life.
He wants you to live and truly enjoy life. You may have moments that feel impossible to overcome or for something good to come out of it. But God can use any hurt, situation, circumstance, or obstacle as a stepping stone for transformation.
So if you ever find yourself feeling defeated, discouraged, or like everything is pointless. Shift your focus to God’s Word, prayer, gratitude, and worship. While remembering that God is with you and will help you overcome any battle you face!♥️
