I don’t know about you, but I love to be in a space that makes me feel good, inspired, and most importantly, comfortable! In the past, I would reach for a classic air freshener to spray through my home and it wouldn’t last long at all.
If you’re like me and you have a four-legged kiddo running around, you may find it a bit challenging to keep your space smelling amazing. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Today, I’ll share with you 10 ways to eliminate odor to make your home smell AMAZING, all the time!
10 Ways To Make Your Home Smell Good
How To Make Your Home Smell Nice
1. Stove Top Simmer
This is a quick and easy way for making your home smell great. You can use a small saucepan, add water, then add a few slices of lemon or orange.
You can also add some herbs of your preferred choice, and just let the ingredients simmer and it’ll carry the scents throughout your home.
2. Keep Your Home Clean
Keeping your home clean in all aspects is one of the easiest ways to making your home smell fresh. Start by washing the dishes, cleaning out the drains, taking out the trash, cleaning out your fridge, and decluttering your space, so that you can breath. This is important! If your home isn’t clean and you’re adding scents, it’s not going to last long. However, it might even create more of an odor.
3. Use A Wax Warmer
Wax Warmers have become my new best friend!
Although Wax Warmers are quite similar to Air Diffusers, they are my top choice when it comes to making my space smell great. Wax Warmers are flameless heaters that’ll fill any room with fragrance. This Wax Warmer has a built-in LED light and an adjustable time frame that you could set for 3, 6, or 9 hours. Also, you wouldn’t have to ever worry about shutting it off. If you want to W-O-W your senses, then I recommend giving this one a try!

4. Diffuse Essentials Oils
I can’t express my love for essential oils enough! I tend to use my diffuser in spaces throughout my home. Diffusing oils like lavender, for relaxation or lemon, to freshen up a space, can be very beneficial. Diffusers are very easy to use. All you have to do is add some water and 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oil. After that, enjoy some aromatherapy while improving the quality of your home’s atmosphere.
5. Use Wall Plugs For Fresh Scents
Using Febreze Wall Plugs are also helpful for making your home smell great! These are great for eliminating any type of odor. For each Febreze Plug Odor Eliminator Refill, you’ll have 1200 hours of pure freshness. I have the bamboo scent and linen & sky, which comes in hand when getting rid of pet odors!
6. Light A Candle
Candles are essential to making a home feel extra cozy. They can be used as a decorative item or you can burn them. If you haven’t given scented candles a try, then you should definitely consider doing so! They’ll make your space smell great. Whether you want to scatter them throughout your home without burning them or if you want to burn them for the extra scent. I have scented candles that I use only for decoration, but they make that particular space smell and feel homey.
7. Deodorize Your Floors Before Vacuuming
The last thing you want is to vacuum and get left with an awful smell. To deodorize your carpet, there are many things you can do. A cool trick that I’ve tried and it worked, was sprinkling a sachet packet onto my carpet letting it absorb the odors. When I was done, my carpet smelled great!
If you have pets, a great way to deodorize your carpet before vacuuming, is using Resolve’s Urine Destroyer. Then, sprinkle Arm & Hammer’s Pet Fresh Carpet Odor Eliminator. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes, then you’re ready to vacuum!
8. Clean Your Refrigerator Regularly
Refrigerators are another thing that collects bad scents. To prevent this from happening, clean out your fridge once a week. Toss out any expired items and completely wipe down the inside of your fridge to remove all spills and crumbs. Warm water and dish soap will get the job done!
If you would like to add a deodorizer to your fridge, then this one by Nonscents helps maintain a fresh-odorless refrigerator. All while, keeping your fruits and veggies fresh 4x longer.
9. Use A Room Spray
I tend to use linen spray to help create a space that’s comfortable and well-scented. You can use them to quickly elevate the scent of your space or to freshen up your home, before having guest over. Room sprays also come in other forms of scents. You can use them to the best of your liking!
10. Open Your Windows For A Natural Refresh
What better way to freshen up your space, than letting in some fresh air?
If your space feels a bit stuffy, open your windows to air things out. Not only will this allow air to circulate in your home, it’ll also eliminate indoor pollutants and bring in some sunlight. Which is an awesome way to boost your mood and receive a good source of Vitamin D. Also, if you have a pet, they’ll enjoy smelling some fresh air, at home!
