Keeping life simple can help you escape the feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed. When you focus on too many things at once it can affect your efficiency, productivity, and well-being.
As we have work tasks to fulfill, daily responsibilities to tend to, and creating time to spend time with our loved ones it can cause a ton of pressure to get it all done.
While prioritizing the things that matter to us, we should also be mindful to live in harmony. By doing so, we’re not overextending ourselves in the different areas of life.
Learning how to keep things in life simple can create more space for peace, and creativity, and help you design your life in the way you wish.
Whether that means making time to learn a new skill, improving yourself, or creating a clear headspace and having clarity.
How Do You Live A Life With Simplicity?
Living a life of simplicity becomes possible by getting clear on what you want. If you’re living life and aren’t clear on things you want to achieve or do in life you may find yourself in the constant cycle of hustle.
Since I’ve started to keep life simple I experience more peace and joy and experience growth in certain areas of my life. I’ve learned the importance of not overcomplicating anything since it may lead to procrastination.
With that being said today, I will be sharing the daily habits that I adopted to start keeping life simple.
Here are 7 ways to start living a Simple Life
How To Keep Life Simple And Have Better Days
Things You Can Do To Simplify Your Life
1. Set Goals
Setting goals is such an important part of simplifying life and living more intentionally. To have direction, purpose, and hope you must know what you’re working towards and what you’d like to accomplish.
Failing to set goals may make you feel stagnant, lost, and confused about your next step. If you need goal ideas then check out my post on 50 Monthly Goal Ideas To Improve Your Life.
2. Create A Planning System That Works For You
If you’re new to planning this may seem like too much however planning is the fun part. Find a planner that meets your planning needs. For paper planners, I recommend The Happy Planner and for digital planners, I recommend PaperNRoses The Basics Undated – Portrait Digital Planner.
Once you find a planner that fits your needs you can fill it in and have a space where you can create a monthly overview, revisit your goals, and create a daily schedule.
Whether you plan monthly, weekly, or daily, having a planner is a great way to hold yourself accountable for your goals.
3. Get Clear On Your Daily Non-Negotiables
This is something that took me so long to do however since getting clear on tasks that move the needle I make it a goal to complete my non-negotiables FIRST before working on all things written on my daily to-do list.
This not only helps you make time for the things that matter but it also helps you to build discipline, improve your time management, and help you live simple
4. Make Your Faith A Priority
Starting your day with a faith-centered morning routine and inviting God into your space is a great way to simplify your life. Since we’re able to give our worries, doubts, fears, and any problems that we may be facing to Him it’s an opportunity to experience peace.
Also, showing gratitude and creating a faith-centered morning routine is a great way for us to hear God’s voice and allow Him to guide us thought-out our day.
5. Write Things Down
Whatever it is write it down. Whether it’s a thought, reminder, feeling, or something that is taking up space in your mind, feel free to take note of it so that you don’t forget.
This is also something that I like to do when I’m busy, feeling overwhelmed, or when I simply want to have a clear and calm mind.
By writing things down, you’re able to focus and be more present in life. Use a notebook, planner, or notepad to store your thoughts and revisit them if needed.
6. Start Living Distraction-Free
Distractions are one thing that keeps us from living a simple life. While some of them may be harmless they take our time and focus away from the things that matter. They also can affect our quality of work, relationships, and life.
Minimizing distractions can help you free up more time to work on your goals, get to know yourself, and enjoy your life.
7. Make Time For Fun
Lastly, if you want to simplify life, it’s essential to make time for fun. The seriousness of life can cause us to only focus on work and responsibilities.
However, while planning your month/week schedule in time for fun. Spending time with your loved ones, going on a solo date, or even practicing self-care are ways to carve time into your schedule to help you experience more fun moments in life.
