Let’s be honest, trusting God’s plan for you can feel inconvenient and even scary initially. But following your plan comes with its challenges and inconveniences that aren’t worth ignoring or prolonging something He has placed on your heart to do. It’s mainly because if it’s a part of the plan, you’ll end up doing it at some point.
From my personal experience, I’ve learned that giving in to your feelings, emotions, and fears can take a toll on your quality of life and potentially delay the things you’re hoping and praying for.
No matter what goals you’re hoping to achieve, it’s important to desire and follow what God leads you to do. Not what you think you should do based on what you see others doing, what you feel like doing, or even the opinions of others.
There isn’t anything more satisfying than the confidence of that inner knowing. That happens to be God leading and directing your steps.
If you don’t know what to do, ask Him for direction. Even if you’ve already made a decision that you feel is right but feel unsure about don’t be afraid to ask Him for confirmation that you’ve made the right choice. And if you’ve made the right choice He’ll affirm you in a way you’ll understand whether or not your actions align with His plans for you.
If you sense that you didn’t make the right choice, seek Him and He will continue to walk this journey with you. Regardless of any mistakes or actions that you make in life, there isn’t anything that can take away the unconditional love that God has for you.

How To Trust God’s Plan
Helpful Tips On Trusting God’s Plan For You
1. Focus On Your Relationship With God
Focusing on your relationship with God is a great way to improve your spiritual life. Yes, God blesses us daily and continuously shows up for us time and time again but our walk with Him shouldn’t be entirely based on how and what He can bless us with.
Instead of approaching God with open hands, let’s start approaching Him with an open heart, mind, and ears. We can do so by regularly spending time with Him through worship, prayer, and gratitude and, by decreasing the noise in our everyday lives so we can listen to His voice and follow His leading.
This may even prompt you daily to ask God how you can serve Him and be a blessing to others. Our relationship with God helps us take the focus off of ourselves, and our circumstances and helps us live in a place of confidence, peace, and purpose. Knowing that He will provide our every need and as long as we’re walking in obedience, we will be blessed.
“If you obey the Lord your God, he will bless you in very many ways.” – Deuteronomy 28:2
2. Release Control Of Outcomes
When it comes to trusting in God’s plan for you it’s important not to get too attached to your desired outcomes.
This will require complete surrender and release of control. When we become set on what we want it may cause us to ignore the very things that will put us in the position to receive the blessings that we’re praying and hoping for.
Releasing control may look like stepping out of your comfort zone, starting something new, stopping habits that no longer align with your vision, or doing whatever God places on your heart to do. Even when you don’t feel like it or before you feel ready.
It’s also important to keep in mind that blessings and breakthroughs don’t always come packaged when and how we may expect them to come. Therefore, whatever you feel led to do by God. Trust and believe that while you’re doing your part He’s making things happen on your behalf.
3. Rediscover Yourself & Life With God
If you’re feeling lost, fearful, stagnant, or need direction, it’s time to rediscover yourself and life.
If you want clarity and understanding of who you are in Christ and are ready to start living a life you love. Then, it’s time to go to the drawing board with God.
For me, when I found my true self, it was one of the most pivotal seasons of my life. Through prayer, a renewed heart, and a new meaning of life. I am now able to have clarity, peace, joy, and the ability to see myself the way that God sees me, my life, and my future.
During this time I also discovered God removing desires hindering growth, fulfillment, and joy within my life. He then replaced those desires with new desires and filled my heart with healing, new passions, and so much more.
This is a great time to hear from God and start creating goals you can start taking action towards daily. Based on your goals, your days should reflect the goals you want to achieve by a deadline that you set.
4. Refine Your Life
Inviting God into your daily life will help you overcome fear, and inspire you to live intentionally and lead to a more joyful life.
Letting go of things that hinder your personal and spiritual growth will help you create space for the things that help you show up as your best self.
This will help you create the boundaries for people, places, and things that pull you further from God. While ultimately, allowing you to choose the habits, relationships, and interests that help you grow in faith.
Refine your mind, life, and actions so that your life is a life that you look forward to waking up to each day!
5. Spend Time In Scripture Daily
Spending time with God daily is essential to building your faith and trusting the plan He has for you.
Getting to know Him through scripture and meditating on Biblical truths can give you the courage to show up each day. Spending a few moments reading scripture daily is a great way to renew your mind and combat fear.
Whether you implement reading your Bible into your morning routine or work it into your daily schedule.
Shifting your focus on God instead of your circumstances allows your heart to be filled with His love, joy, and peace.
Prioritizing time with God whether it’s reading my Bible, completing a devotional, or through prayer has helped me romanticize life and keep Him at the center of all that I do. No matter what season of life I’m experiencing.
6. Live An Intentional Life
Living intentionally and showing up daily as the person God created you to be is essential to following His plan for you.
Showing up in your personal and work life can help you create radical change within your life. Building better habits and simplifying your life are realistic approaches to designing your life little by little to look like the life He desires for you to live. I think it’s also important to mention that God wants us to enjoy life.
This means making time for both priorities and fun. However, we must also aim to live a life embodied by the fruits of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Qualities that will help us navigate life, relationships, circumstances, finances, passions, challenges, and all other aspects of life gracefully.
Living an intentional and simple life can give you the clarity, confidence, and courage to show up daily knowing there is purpose for all that you do.
Whether you’re spending time with God, checking off your to-do list, creating fun memories, cherishing those you love, or even resting. Living a simple life can create more space within our lives to allow God to move in ways that seem impossible.
