My husband and I went to the Sunshine State for our honeymoon trip. This was the first time for both of us to visit Panama City Beach, Florida. We were able to indulge in some pretty awesome activities that made our weekend getaway feel like a total vacation.
As newlyweds, especially if you’re on a budget, there’s nothing wrong with packing your bags and heading to PCB!
Panama City Beach is a great place to visit with your family, friends, or like I mentioned before, a perfect destination for a romantic getaway.
In today’s post, I’ll be sharing a few places that I personally love. Including, some great spots to eat for lunch or dinner. In addition, you’ll be able to see highlights from our trip! I hope this post inspires you to make Panama City Beach your next travel destination.
Happy travel!
THINGS TO DO IN PANAMA CITY BEACH AND WHERE TO EAT
1. SEE THE DOLPHINS ON A SUNSET CRUISE
Are you planning a trip to Panama City Beach or need a reason to visit? Then, Island Time Sailboat Dolphin Sunset Cruise has all the right reasons you should visit.
The Dolphin Sunset Cruise is approximately 2 hours long. However, you’ll see many breathtaking views and enjoy some good tunes as well. Also, there’s a bar that has snacks and beverages for people to enjoy while on the cruise.
You’ll cruise though the calm waters of Grand Lagoon, past the marinas, State Park, and see the stunning emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Not to mention, the great staff on board! Their crew is incredible and informative to ensure that you enjoy your experience. Most importantly, they enjoy taking photos for you if needed.
This cruise is fun and enjoyable for families, couples, or if you just want to have a good time with your friends. With great music playing the entire cruise, you’re bound to have a great time. After the sun goes down, then you’ll enjoy some dancing and games!
2. VISIT WONDER WORKS UPSIDE-DOWN HOUSE
Wonderworks is another great place to go. If it’s a rainy day or if you need a mini break from the sun, this attraction is perfect!
This place is known for it’s topsy-turvy architectural landscape that attracts many. WonderWorks is great if you have kids, love science, or just want to see the beauty that’s within from this attraction.
3. SOAK UP THE SUN AT THE BEACH
While it’s probably the most inexpensive thing to do, enjoy some time at the beach!
Panama City has 27 miles of beaches to offer to locals and tourists of all ages. Especially, for those who come to play, relax, soak up the sun, and swim.
4. VISIT RIPLEYS BELIEVE IT OR NOT
If you’re looking for something fun to do, visit Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Mirror Maze in Panama City Beach. We we’re able to make it through the mirror maze and find the treasure chest at the end of the maze.
This mirror maze is a bit challenging! Trying to find your way out of their labyrinth of mirrors and LED lights will be a fun experience that you’ll enjoy. This adventure will become a laughable memory that you’ll always have.
You’ll fall in love with the beauty of their infinity mirrors!
5. EXPLORE PIER PARK
There’s at least 124 shops, including restaurants, and a SkyWheel to see great views of Panama City Beach. Pier Park has a fun environment that you’ll enjoy yourself or with others. We we’re able to grab some ice cream from Marbles Creamery after a hot day at the beach!
Have a sweet tooth?
If you love candy, then you’ll definitely need to stop by I Love Sugar while at Pier Park!
Pier Park is live no matter what time you go. However, if you want to enjoy a beautiful sunset and capture Instagram worthy photos, then I recommend going at sunset.
WHERE TO EAT IN PANAMA CITY BEACH
HAMMERHEAD FRED’S ISLAND GRILL & BAR
Hammerhead Fred’s Island Bar and Grill is at great place to enjoy a nice dinner in Panama City Beach.
Serving unique local gulf fresh seafood dished in a rustic setting. You’ll without a doubt get to experience that PCB vibe that locals and visitors love.
However, we went at night and it was truly a great experience dining outdoors (which is optional). The scenery was extremely beautiful and the food was delicious to say the least.
My husband ordered ‘The Burger” and while I decided to try “The Whales Tail” we both had a side of their famous mashed potatoes and french fries.
DICK’S LAST RESORT
To say the least, Dick’s Last Resort is a fun spot to grab a bite to eat and you’ll be in for a treat! It’s not like most restaurants where everyone has to be polite.
In fact, your server can be a bit rude, but nothing over the top! They’ll start by making you this paper hat and then writing something on it. However, whatever they write, will definitely have you tickled! The food was delicious as well. My husband tried the “Bacon Cheddar Burger” and I ordered the “Mama Dick’s Mac ‘N’ Cheez” Pasta Dish.
Their servers make your experience memorable. You’ll definitely have a great time with your significate other, a group of friends, or even just by yourself. So, if you’re looking for a fun restaurant that’ll also bring you laughter, then Dick’s Last Resort is the place to visit!
