There is so much beauty in the season of waiting. However, it’s rather easy to become anxious while waiting for something “big” to happen in your life.
I’m always expecting God to do great things within my life, and I’ll admit that I become impatient at times. As I’m writing this post, I am in a season of waiting on God to do things that I know only He can do. One of the most difficult parts of waiting is releasing whatever you want from God and giving Him full control of the outcome.
The truth is, there hasn’t been one time that I wished things worked out when and how I wanted them to. Why, may you ask? My answer will always be simply because God always has something better in store, bigger than we could imagine.
In today’s posts, I’ll share with you 5 ways you can find joy while waiting on God to do great things in your life!
SEEK GOD
When you’re waiting for God to do something significant in your life, this is the best time to get connected with Him. God not only values the desires of your heart, but He wants a relationship with you. Talking to God through prayer and getting to know Him through His word will ultimately improve your faith, and you’ll also experience His love and grace.
I’ve learned that God will always give me direction and everything that I could possibly need to fulfill His plans for each season of my life.
Having that said, instead of losing hope, turn to God and His word when you feel anxious, worried, or fearful of what the future may hold. Trust that God’s perfect timing will work together for your good. Although the wait will not be easy, use this time to listen to God’s voice actively and know that He’s on your team, and with Him, you ALWAYS win!
EXPECT GREAT THINGS TO HAPPEN
If there is one thing that you can count on daily is God’s, unfailing love. Even when life happens or people let you down, you can always trust God to brighten your day and know that He is ALWAYS working things out for your good. Therefore, start expecting God to do great things in your life, not just today but every day!
PREPARE YOURSELF
Am I seriously ready for the things I’m asking God for?
This is a question that I asked myself quite often. Although there were many things that I would have loved for God to bless me with and many things that I was praying for, I can honestly say that I was not ready for any of those things. However, once I realized that I would receive what’s meant for me in God’s perfect timing, it changed everything.
Learning that made me extremely thankful that God blesses me on His time and not on my own.
Therefore when you find yourself in a season of waiting on the next big (or little) thing to happen into your life, start focusing on the type of person you’re becoming during the process. Use this time to become the version of yourself by staying positive, healthy, and fueling your faith!
ENJOY THE WAIT
Yes, enjoy it!
While this may be easier said than done, it’s necessary, and I’m constantly working on embracing the wait. I believe that there is so much to learn about who God is and ourselves while in a season of waiting on the unexpected to happen.
Oftentimes, we may think we know what’s best for our lives; however, God already knows the outcome while we’re trying to find a solution to our problems.
So why do we put stress on ourselves that God never intended for us to carry?
God wants you to enjoy life, and you can do so by making Him the top priority in your life. When facing uncertainty, keep in mind that God has a plan for you. Stressing yourself out will not change the outcome, and it doesn’t add any positive value to your life. However, your faith can make all the difference, and what’s meant for will always be for you, but you must trust God’s timing!
TRUST THE PROCESS
It’s so simple, yet it’s something that can become very difficult when our circumstances appear so big. But, honestly, no matter how big your problems may look, they’re never too big for God.
Perhaps you find yourself doubting God’s ability to turn things around in your life based on how things look from your perspective. I’m here to tell you that you are exactly where you need to be, and God will equip you with anything you may need to get you to the next season of your life.
Rather than doubting yourself and God’s plan for your life, trust that God is always working on your behalf even when you don’t see an instant change!
