THE LIFE THAT CAME AFTER: FAITH, HEALING, AND THE CHOICE TO MOVE FORWARD
February 9, 2026God is SO good! There is truly no one word that I can think of to describe His love, goodness, and all that He desires to be to you and within your life. I’m not sure what brought you to the post or how you may have discovered this blog. But, first off thank you! And secondly, I hope this post meets you where you are in your journey.

I wasn’t sure on what to title this but the life after seems best fitted for all the good that is to come in your life. No matter what you’re you’re going through or facing. Rather it’s something you consider to be big or small matter. God is with you every step of the way.
This post is inspired by what I thought at the time was the worst year of my life. But, God used it to create something so beautiful, renewing, and refreshing within my heart. And today, my life has completely changed for the better.
Healing Is A Daily Decision That Requires Effort
Although healing is a journey, it’s daily choice that you must choose. Some days may feel more easier or difficult than others.
But, choosing to move forward little by little has made me so much more grateful for my faith, who I am, and the life that I am so blessed to live that I didn’t think was possible.
My life changed forever over such a short timespan. Within 3 months, I experienced multiple losses and to be honest it was hard but God carried me when I felt like I couldn’t take my next step and life began to feel lighter, better, and fuller than before.
You can’t control all that takes place in your life BUT you can decide how you choose to move forward and how you show up.
To be completely honest, this is true reflection from my personal experience. I am still healing, growing, and have difficult days as well. This post is meant to be as inspiration. And I share things that helped me on this journey. I hope it inspires and encourages you to live your life fully and intentionally.
Here are 7 Things That Helped Me Move Forward!✝️🎀🦋

The Life That Came After: Faith, Healing, & The Choice To Move Forward
There Is Beauty In Everything
1. Really Prioritizing My Walk With God
Tough times really are a great opportunity to grow your faith. Rather than relying on own strength because you’ll discover that it’s not meant for you to do heal on your own. It’s impossible and no amount of self-care, distractions, or avoidance will allow you to experience true healing.
Inviting God into your hurt, pain, confusion, and circumstances is the beginning to a more fuller and authentic life. At least for me, the more time I spent with God, reading His word, listening to worship music, and actually living my life. Gave me the strength to enjoy my life and helped me process really hard emotions and feelings.
You can look at it as simple as following God and trusting that His ways are far better than your own ways. And little by little He will begin to work within your heart, life and unmagineable ways.
2. Following A Simple Skin Care Routine
Starting a simple skincare routine has worked wonders. Even in the midst of high stress and healing.
Making skincare a priority has been something that I look forward to daily even now. It also has cleared my skin, increased confidence, and lead to me taking more positive action to improve my health and wellness overall.
You don’t need a 20 step skincare routine to transform your skin. All you need the right products suitable for your skin and to be consistent with it daily.
For example, my skincare routine takes about five minutes and consists of 3-4 products. It’s a small act to pour into myself and well worth the reward.
3. Starting Pilates & Loving It!
I started pilates a little over a year into my healing journey. For the past 7 years my form of movement was long daily walks in nature.
Occasionally, I ran and I felt great as I consistently ran 1-2 times a week for a few months. Then I stopped running and chose to focus on walks and pilaties.
I remember my first class in I felt extremely nervous and anxious. I’d never tried a fitness class up until that point. I am now almost classes in, and it something that truly enjoy and look forward to weekly!
For you, it doesn’t have to be pilates. You can start with walk, running, at home workouts, or look into fitness studios in your area!
4. Taking Care Of My Body
We only get one body and it’s important that when nourish it well. It may seem overwhelming and impossible to improve your lifestyle in a healthy way when you feel like you’re surviving and trying to keep a positive outlook.
Taking care of my body improved little by little and took patience.
My journey consist of creating simple meal options that are both balanced and enjoyable. Moving my body, as I mentioned previously, staying hydrated, and spending time with God to manage all the emotions and change I was navigating.
5. Learning To Let Go Of Negative Thought Patterns
Just like any other habit, letting go or negative thought patterns require work daily.
Even on the days you feel great and have a positive perspective. Because the truth is, triggers exist. Meaning within an instant you can go from being grateful to dwelling on negative thoughts. Which can make a huge impact on how you feel and influence how you live your life.
Replaying any negative or hurtful emotions won’t change your reality, it only steals your joy. Acknowledging thoughts, emotions, and feelings is essential to your healing.
However, choosing to not become fixed on the negative is what will actually help you become better. Rather than spending time thinking about what’s going well, choose to focus on faith, truth, and things that spark joy!💫
6. Becoming Better By Being Consistent With Habits
Keeping the commitments you’ve made to yourself is crucial. Especially during your healing journey. When you show up for yourself, even on the hard days you build discipline, confidence, and become more resilient.
The best way to be consistent during hard times is getting clear on your desires and starting small. My approach towards this that isn’t too overwhelming is choosing my top 3 habits that will bring the most positive change to my life.
Making those three habits my baseline ensures that I can show regardless of I feel and whether or not I have a busy day. This makes my habits doable and I’m more likely to follow through efficiently and with grace.
Being intentional of your habits and starting small will without a doubt give you realistic goals that you can work towards. Which means you’re able to achieve your goals and enjoy life even while healing. My core three non-negotiable daily habits are:
- spending 1 hour with God daily through worship, prayer journaling, reading my Bible, and doing a daily devotional.
- 70 minutes of movement
- 90+ minutes of creative work on set days
7. Learning And Trying New Things Beyond My Comfort Zone
There is always something that we can learn from what we experience in life. Some of the most valuable lessons learned in life tend to come from rock bottoms, hurt, or pain that we’ve endured.
Even if you feel like there is no lesson to be learned, you can gain more knowledge on the specific issue that you’re dealing with.
Reading a book, watching a video, listening to helpful podcast, or simply learning something new. Are all great ways I’ve embrace my healing journey and has truly made a positive impact on me, my life, and my perspective.
I hope this year is filled with, healing, growth, new beginning, and greater faith like never before!❤️
