HOW TO DRINK MORE WATER
Being that you’ve made it to this post, you know how your body reacts or how dehydrated you may become if you’re not drinking enough water. It may make you feel bloated or even unbalanced. Not drinking enough water can ultimately affect your health, skin, and everyday life.
I remember before I made drinking water a priority. I was feeling unenergized, bloated, off, and trust me, its not a good feeling!
The recommended amount of drinking water is 8 glasses a day, which is equivalent to 2 liters of water. That isn’t too bad, especially when it concerns your health and wellness.
HOW TO DRINK MORE WATER
When you begin to practice these simple ways to drink more water in your daily life, it’ll soon become a habit. You will then start seeing improvements in your life, how you feel, and your overall appearance as well!
HAVE A GOAL
Besides drinking water to be healthier or for weight loss, you’ll need a clear insight of the amount of water you want to intake daily. This will allow you to know how much you need to drink throughout the day so that you are giving your body gets the water it needs.
For instance, if you weigh 160 lbs, you would need to consume 30ml/kg of water a day. That’s equal to ten eight ounces of water.
REMIND YOURSELF
This may sound a bit extreme or pointless if you’ve already made up in your mind that you’re gonna start drinking more water. Reminding yourself everyday is essential for making sure you drink plenty of water. At least until it becomes a habit.
I’m more of a visual person. Meaning, I can tell myself, “Kenda, you need to drink a gallon of water today.” and I’ll forget unless I make it apart of my to-do list. Try setting a reminder on your phone to remind you to drink water throughout the day or putting sticky notes on the fridge.
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR WATER INTAKE
It can be difficult keeping track of how much water you drink throughout the day, if you don’t keep track of it. There are so many fun ways to keep track of your progress.
Use a daily time marked water bottle. You could use a motivational water bottle with a daily time marker to help you achieve your hourly drinking goals, that way you can see how much water you need to drink before the day is over.
Start a bullet journal for water tracking. Writing down and logging when you drink water is such an effective way to keep track of your water intake. Using a bullet journal will definitely help you.
Use an app to keep track. If you want to take an easier route by using your phone. Here are a few app ideas:
- iHydrate (Apple)
- Waterlogged (Apple)
- WaterMinder (Apple)
- HydroCoach (Android)
- AquaAlert (Android)
- Water Drink Reminder (Android)
ADD SOME FRUIT
If you’re tired of drinking plain water or just hate the taste of faucet water, try adding some fruit. Adding cucumbers, lemons, berries, or even strawberries will make your water taste much better. I love adding cucumbers to my water. It’s a great way to stay hydrated, especially on a hot day.
You can also use a fused pitcher or water bottle to keep water infused to the very last drop.
EAT FOODS HIGH IN WATER

START AND END YOUR DAY WITH A GLASS OF WATER
Drinking water is one of the first things I do when I wake up each morning. Before breakfast or my morning cup of coffee, I make sure to drink a 23oz bottle of water. This helps me feel much more motivated for my morning workout and energized to get things done.
Also, drinking water before bed definitely keeps me hydrated and helps me fall asleep faster!
