Practicing Sunday Habits that help you recharge and reset can set you up for a successful week.
Sundays are a breath of fresh air. Having a Sunday routine to start your week can help you get back on track and have less stress and more excitement about the new week.
Think about how you generally spend your Sundays. Do you treat it like any other day or do you use it to your advantage to reset for the upcoming week?
For me, I like to spend my Sundays attending church, spending time with my loved ones, and preparing for the new week. There’s just something about mindfully and the feeling of calmness that Sundays provide.
If you’re wanting to have a productive week, there are a few weekly habits that you can add to your Sunday routine.
Having a weekly routine helps me live intentionally and create a flow that works for my life. I feel at ease and know what all needs to be accomplished throughout the week by spending my Sunday living slowly and preparing myself for the week.
Let’s get into the 6 Sunday Habits To Improve Your Life.
Sunday Habits To Improve Your Week
6 Simple Sunday Habits For A Productive Week
1. Fill In Your Weekly Planner
Planning is an important task to kickstart your week. It’ll also help you with time management and positively impact your outlook on the week ahead of you.
On Sundays, I like planning everything that I need to do for the week and any goals that I want to accomplish. I plan things from my work life to my personal life, so I can feel more organized. Therefore, I’m able to get things done.
Once I have my intentions set for the week, I like to implement time blocking for each task. This allows me to work effectively and not get overwhelmed or distracted by my long to-do list. Lately, I’ve been absolutely loving Jules Acree’s Design Your Year Notion Pack and my Digital Planner By HolyCozyCo because it helps me stay organized and focused on my goals. Planning your week creates more time for you to work on your daily tasks.
I generally spend the most time in the planner when planning monthly and weekly. This means I spend about 10-15 minutes in my planner each day before starting on daily tasks and I get more done in less time since making planning a weekly habit!
2. Plan And Prep Your Meals For The Week
Do you often resort to fast food during the week? Is there, not enough time to plan and/or prepare your meals during the week?
Well, you may benefit from preparing your meals on Sundays to spend less time cooking throughout the week.
Try dedicating just a couple of hours on Sunday to cook your meals for the week ahead. This will help you prepare healthy meals that you can grab and eat during the week.
After cooking a week’s worth of food, be sure to place your food into a plastic container or with this glass container set from Amazon. These glass containers are microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe. Also great for portion control.
Find Quick And Easy Meals To Cook
I’m always browsing Pinterest for crockpot recipes. Especially when I feel the urge to dine out. Crockpot meals are very convenient and easy to make. All you have to do is throw in your ingredients and let the crockpot do its job!
3. Tidy Up Your Space
I don’t know about you, but I can’t work well in messy environments! That’s why it’s important to make your space a place that promotes both productivity and positivity.
You should make time to clean and tidy up your space on Sundays. It’s not only to declutter your physical space but also to put your mind to ease for the rest of the week.
Tidying up your space is essential for keeping your home clutter-free.
When you make it home after a long and stressful day of work, the last thing you want to do is wash a pile of dishes or fold laundry. Especially if it’s been sitting there for a few days and you’ve been putting it off for a while.
Starting your week off in a clean space allows you to stay organized and focused during the week. While ensuring each day is a productive day!
4. Start Your Week With Self-Care
Taking time to focus on yourself on Sundays is a great way to prepare yourself mentally before diving into the new week.
It can affect our overall well-being if we don’t spend quality time with ourselves. It’s important to consider ourselves and our wellness just as important as our daily responsibilities.
Whether it’s reading a book, enjoying a warm bubble bath, or doing something fun, start your week by taking care of yourself.
Remember, self-care is not a luxury is a priority!
5. Go To Bed At A Reasonable Time
It is vital to ensure that your body is getting the rest it needs to recharge and prepare you for a productive week.
I don’t know about you, but if I don’t get a good night’s rest, I’m usually not in the best mood. It’s hard to be motivated to get the day started when you haven’t had much sleep.
Another way to prepare yourself for the week ahead is by getting plenty of rest. By doing so, you’re able to think clearly and make better decisions.
It’s best to avoid staying up late on Sundays when you could be resting. Otherwise, you’ll catch a case of the Monday blues! The last thing you want is for the week to drag and make you feel burnt out by mid-week.

6. Set Your Intentions For The Week
In addition to filling in your calendar, it’s also important to know what goals you want to achieve for the week.
Knowing what things need to be done will help you stay productive and on top of your game throughout the week. Writing down what I would like to accomplish, how I’d like to feel at the end of the week, and the actions that I want to take help me to create a clear vision for the week.
After setting my intentions for the week, I then list my weekly goals and habits that I plan to track. This helps me to hold myself accountable for my goals.
