It’s never too late, nor are you ever too far off track to start reading your Bible. Reading God’s Word and experiencing all that it offers is essential to improving the quality of your relationship with Jesus.

The Bible is truly a breath of fresh air. Whether you want to learn about Biblical stories, God’s promises and character, or how to navigate life, I believe you never truly experience the beauty of God’s Word until you begin to read and experience it for yourself.
We are all walking our unique paths in life, and you’ll discover how powerful it is when you read, meditate, and apply its teachings.
How Do I Go About Reading My Bible?
I am not an expert; I can only speak from my experience. While I’ve always enjoyed reading my Bible, it looks different every season of life.
Some days I may read a chapter or two, and others I may only read one verse. So, whether you read a verse, chapter, or Bible book daily, take the time to meditate and reflect on what you’ve read. This simple approach has transformed my faith and makes my time with God feel extra special rather than something “I HAVE” to do.
Sometimes less is more, and we should solely focus on the quality of our relationship with God, so that we become more spiritually mature and better each day. As a result, the growth, healing, and blessings we receive from reading and applying what we read from the Bible will extend to every aspect of our lives.
Reading your Bible is essential in your walk with God. No matter where you’re at in your journey, His Word speaks life into us, our circumstances, and gives us the tools we need to live a joyful life. There is so much we can learn from spending time getting to know God more and the life He intends for us to live.
Reading your Bible shouldn’t be considered a task, chore, or performance. Instead, it should be something you look forward to doing. Whether you looking for growth, wisdom, peace, comfort, or resources to help grow your relationship with God.

How To Read Your Bible
6 Unique And Realistic Ways To Read Your Bible
1. Choose A Bible Version

There are tons of Bible translations and versions that you can use to make sure you understand God’s Word. This isn’t something you should be ashamed of, either.
If you’re having a difficult time choosing a Bible version that you can understand, then I highly recommend using the YouVersion Bible App to discover the many different versions that are available to you. You can do this by downloading the app, choosing a scripture, comparing versions, and determining which version you can understand best.
In other words, choosing a Bible version that allows you to understand, reflect, meditate, and apply its teachings to your life will help you read your Bible more.
2. Choose a Bible
Once you have a better understanding of the Bible version best for you, you can then choose a Bible in the version that you can read and understand.
There are so many beautiful Bibles to choose from. I am currently using the She Reads Truth Bible in the CSB version in rose gold. I also use the Bible App that I mentioned as a companion when I want to dig into scripture.
For example, I may come across a scripture that really speaks to my heart, and I’ll just open the Bible App and compare versions. I usually compare the ESV, EASY, ERV, NLT, GW, and MSG versions to determine which I like best. No matter which Bible you choose to use physically, you can always compare and refer to other versions within the Bible App
3. Create A Space For Bible Reading
Having a designated place or routine for Bible reading time can help you take delight in your quiet time with God.
Whether you create/alternate spaces for Bible reading at home, in nature, or at a local cafe. These are all great ways to enjoy God’s Word and spend intentional time with Jesus.
4. Set The Vibe
Whatever you need to do to prepare your heart and mind for your time with God is essential to making the most of this precious time. Especially if you have a busy day, tasks, and deadlines to complete throughout the day.
The time you spend with God daily can bless your entire day and all you hope to accomplish. A few ways you can set the vibe and make the of your time with God are:
- Creating a worship playlist.
- Create a quiet, cozy, and distraction-free space.
- Bring all your Bible reading essentials – journal, pens, highlighters, or if you’re an iPad girly grab your iPad. Along with any other supplies you may need.
5. Read Your Bible & Reflect
Now that you have all that you need to read your Bible, you can start digging into the Word. There isn’t a wrong or right passage to start with when reading. Some Bibles have Bible reading plans available within.
You can also find Bible reading plans by browsing Pinterest for specific books or topics. Once you’ve determined what you’ll be reading, you’ll also want to reflect on what you’ve read.
There are many different methods of studying the Bible. My favorite Bible study method is the S.O.A.P. method. It is simple, effective, and doesn’t take long. I’ve been using this digital Faith Journal for my daily devtionals, Bible studies, and for prayer journaling.
6. Keep Showing Up
Being consistent in our spiritual lives is important. Why?
Because people, things, and circumstances can’t give us what God only provides for us. Meaning if you want to live a fulfilling, well-balanced, peaceful, and joyful life. It starts with God, along with us doing our part, and knowing that true contentment comes from God.
And no matter how many times you get off track, miss a day, or get distracted by life. God will always meet you where you are and welcome you with open arms. But you must do your best to be as consistent as you can in growing your faith and trusting God. All while living and appreciating the life He has blessed you to live!🌻
