Dealing with grief and loss can be difficult to navigate. Especially, if you’re trying to get through this challenging season alone or perhaps avoiding the natural feelings and emotions that are a part of your grieving journey. But there is good news!
God is with you every step of the way. And for the days that you feel defeated, alone, lost, hurt, confused, or even disappointed, He will be there to lead you to His truths. Truths that lead to peace and living a more joyful life.
I’ve learned how important it is to read my Bible and spend intentional time with Jesus on the good and not-so-good days.
Because the truth of the matter is, is that when life happens and your world gets turned upside down, you’ll most likely cling to what feels safe and familiar.
There have been so many days during my grieving journey that I can only recite a Bible verse that really speaks to both my heart and life.
Having a scripture that helps me to focus on God helps me to depend on Him rather than being consumed by my thoughts, feelings, or emotions.
Self-Care Ideas For Grief
Something I find very beneficial to help me with grief and loss is indulging in self-care activities that allow me to process loss healthily and positively.
This helps me acknowledge, process, and give any negative and unwanted feelings to God. A few ways to practice self-care while grieving are:
- Creating a faith-filled morning routine
- Journaling
- Nourishing your body with balanced meals and staying hydrated
- Spending time in nature
- Starting a new hobby
- Creatively processing grief by creating a journal for your loved one
All in all, grief is never easy and I believe it’s something that requires us to shift our focus and thoughts to God to enjoy life after losing a loved one.
I hope you find at least one scripture that can be your anchor and hope, and help you experience peace and the never-failing love of God during this tough season. Here are 26 Scriptures For Grief And Loss! 🤍🕊️🌷✝️
