If you made it to this post, then you’re probably feeling the same way I felt months after not bringing in any profits from my blog.
Maybe you aren’t quite comfortable with where you are and you feel like giving up. You most likely intended to be further along after all the hard work and time you’ve invested into your blog. Well, you did one of the hardest parts, which is starting!
It’s so important to stay motivated during your blogging journey no matter what. When we play the comparison game, it doesn’t make this process easier. Focusing on your progress and knowing how to stay motivated will equip you to become the successful blogger you want to be. I hope this post encourages you to keep striving for greatness!
1. SET REALISTIC GOALS
It’s tremendously important to set goals for your blog. When I first started blogging, my ultimate goal was to one day be able to enjoy the luxury of working from home.
I was clueless and overwhelmed with all the information I was obtaining. That was until I began setting small goals that would give me some direction to achieving my ultimate goal.
Examples of monthly goals to set:
- Publish x amount of posts
- Grow x amount of followers on social media
- Drive x amount of affiliate sales
- Get x amount of daily users on your website
- Make x amount of income
Remember that you have to start somewhere and it’s okay to start small. As long as you are consistent and working hard towards your goals, you will not fail so don’t give up!
2. KNOW YOUR WHY
Knowing your “why“ will give you so much motivation to be a successful blogger. Yes, most bloggers start blogging to increase their income and ultimately make it a full-time job.
Money is a great motivation, but it isn’t specifically giving you insight on how to get to where you want to be.
For instance, I started my blog Kenda Martin LTV simply because I want to be my own boss, have freedom to things without worrying about finances, and create a life that I love all while making an impact and encouraging others to do the same.
3. CELEBRATE THE SMALL WINS
Appreciating the small wins that you accomplish with your blog will go far and motivate you to do better. Whether you’ve been blogging for weeks, months, or years and you’re not where you’d thought you’d be, appreciate where you are and make improvements when needed!
For instance, if you want to make your first (or more) affiliate sales ask yourself, “What can I do to drive more sales?”
Instead of focusing on your failures, focus on how you can move forward so you’ll see growth.
4. WORK EFFECTIVELY
The best way to work effectively is to focus on one thing at a time before moving on to the next task on your to-do list.
I remember those days I spent making a to-do list and jumping task to task and not getting anything done. It was ridiculously overwhelming!

It’s great to have ambition and chase your dreams, but taking care of yourself is vital. In order to create great content for your audience, you must work effectively and you’ll need to practice self-care daily. In the end, ultimately this will grow your blog.
